Allosaurus Fragilis Muscle Study

I enjoyed creating this muscle study, their jaws are so interesting. Allosaurus fragilis could open its mouth at least 79 degrees! Crazy to think when you consider tyrannosaurus rex who could open its mouth at around 63 degrees. This is at their maximal and rarely used except to take down large prey. I made sure I didn't make its jaw muscles too big, since the general rule with jaw muscles is the wider the jaw gap the weaker the bite. The stronger and bigger the jaw muscles the smaller jaw gap and more powerful bite. Muscles done in markers, white pen, and colored pencils. Labels done in Illustrator.
